For a challenge...

We have been working with polynomials the past couple weeks. Use what you know about multiplying polynomials to solve this problem:

Pretend you want to fit a perfectly shaped circular rug into your perfectly square room. All you know right now is that the radius of the rug is "r" feet long. 1) Find the area of the rug, 2) the area of the room and then 3) the area of the room that won't be covered by the rug. (hint -draw a picture!)

Then, when you finish -complete any study island assignments that you need to do!
